The Social Network

After watching The Social Network it immediately became one of my favorite films. The fact that the film was based on the true story of how Facebook was invented made it exceedingly appealing. Typically teens and young adults do not enjoy documentaries but because Facebook is such a large part of our world the story of its invention was fascinating to watch. Jesse Eisenberg did an exceptional job playing the real life creator Mark Zuckerberg. David Dishers film outlined the main events that lead to the invention of Facebook and its aftermath. In 2003, Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) generated an idea to take the complete Harvard social experience and transform it into a website that Myspace or Livejournal had never even imagined. Along with his best friend Eduardo Saverin (Anrew Garfield) Zuckerberg made a rough draft of “The Facebook” that would rapidly become the most massive powerful social network in the world. With any great idea problems arise. Multiple legal conflicts arose that crushed most of his personal relationships. The Social Network was remarkably made. The movie actually took place after the creation of Facebook, the audience learns about the making of Facebook only through flashbacks during the different trials Zuckerberg had to face. This way the whole story was not revealed in order but bits and parts were shown as we watch Zuckerberg go through legal battles. This made the movie out of the ordinary and very alluring.

  1. This is number 5 right now on my Netflix list. I should be watching it soon. Once I finish watching The Tudors.
