127 Hours

The true and uplifting story of a mountain climber who was trapped under a rock for (you guessed it) 127 hours and eventually had to saw his own arm off with a dull pocket knife to survive. 127 hours was, as expected, a great movie. James Franco plays Aron Ralston, the main character, and does a great job doing so. His acting along with the filming of the movie definitely turned this true story into an award winning film. My only complaint is that I felt like I was watching the movie for 127 hours, though this may be a little bit of a harsh criticism for a movie that I really enjoyed, the 94 minute film was painfully slow at times. I secretly may have fast-forwarded through some parts so I could get to the more intense scenes. The slowness was necessary though because it perfectly depicts the situation Aron found himself in. The film was shot with interesting camera angles that just added to the affect of being trapped under a rock in an extremely tight space. 127 hours is a must see movie that is among the best of the year, but be weary if you are looking for an adventure, drama, thriller which is the genre the movie was assigned. There was adventure, and lots of drama, but only about 5 to 10 minutes of thrill.
